Privacy Isn't a Checkbox. It's a Product Feature

Introducing the Domus Inventum Privacy Centre

When people buy or sell luxury property, they share more than an email address.

They trust platforms with their aspirations, search preferences, conversations, budgets, viewing history and, in many cases, deeply personal information about the life they hope to build next.

That trust is earned.

At Domus Inventum, we believe privacy should never be treated as an afterthought or a legal obligation tucked away in a policy document. It should be designed into the platform from the very beginning.

That philosophy has guided the launch of our new Privacy Centre.

Transparency Should Be the Default

Many online platforms technically comply with data protection legislation, but few make it genuinely easy to understand what information they hold, why they hold it and what you can do with it.

We wanted something better.

The Privacy Centre allows every Domus Inventum user - buyers, agents, agencies and developers - to view, export and manage their personal information without waiting for support or submitting lengthy requests.

Transparency should not require a support ticket.

Your Data, Explained

Downloading your data is no longer just a technical exercise.

Every export now includes two files.

The first is a complete machine-readable JSON archive containing the information associated with your account. This is ideal if you wish to transfer your data to another service or keep your own archive.

Alongside it, we generate a professionally formatted Privacy Report.

Rather than presenting thousands of lines of technical data, the report explains, in plain English:

  • what information we hold

  • why we hold it

  • the legal basis for processing

  • how long we retain each category

  • the privacy rights available to you

We believe understanding your data should not require technical expertise.

Privacy by Design

The Privacy Centre is part of a much broader philosophy that influences every product decision we make.

Whenever we introduce a new feature, we ask questions before writing code.

Do we actually need this information?

How long should we retain it?

Can the user control it?

Can it be explained clearly?

Can it be removed if no longer needed?

Privacy is not something we add afterwards. It is considered from the moment a feature is conceived.

Control Means More Than Downloading Data

Users should also be able to leave just as easily as they joined.

Deleting an account should not feel uncertain or irreversible.

When you choose to close your Domus Inventum account, it is immediately deactivated. Listings are unpublished, alerts stop, marketing communications cease and your public profile disappears.

For the following 30 days, you can simply sign back in if you change your mind.

After that period, personally identifiable information is permanently anonymised while records that must legally be retained - for example, accounting records or historical audit logs - remain only in an anonymised form where they no longer identify an individual.

This approach balances user control with our legal and operational responsibilities.

AI Should Be Transparent Too

As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly common, transparency becomes even more important.

Features such as Oraculum are designed to enhance your experience by remembering relevant preferences and providing continuity across conversations.

Just as importantly, you remain in control.

You can see what information is retained, understand why it is retained and remove that information whenever you choose.

Artificial intelligence should assist people, not quietly accumulate data without their knowledge.

Building Trust Through Openness

Trust cannot be claimed. It has to be demonstrated.

For us, that means publishing clear policies, explaining our technology honestly and giving users practical tools to manage their information without unnecessary friction.

Luxury property transactions depend on confidence.

That confidence extends beyond beautiful photography, exceptional properties and intelligent technology.

It also depends on knowing that the platform handling your information treats it with the same care and professionalism as every other aspect of the experience.

Fiducia

The Latin word Fiducia means trust, confidence and reliance.

We chose it as the name of this category because it reflects something fundamental about Domus Inventum.

Trust is not built through marketing slogans. It is built through transparency, thoughtful design and consistently putting users in control.

The Privacy Centre is one more step in that direction.
