They call me Gionatan—with a 'G,' like *Gabbiano* (seagull), as my mother used to say. Life has taught me that wings alone aren't enough to fly far; you need a sharp instinct. An instinct for the wind, for fresh fish, and—most importantly—for beautiful homes. And, if I do say so myself, I’ve seen plenty of homes. Homes with a sea view, homes without one, and homes with a view of the neighbor hanging out his underwear. I’ve slept on rooftops, on the ledges of castles, and once, even on the statue of a notary. Because of this, I consider myself a true real estate professional. Every morning, as I soar over the cities, I hum my favorite little tune: "Real Estate G! Whatever kind of home you’re looking for, Gionatan can find it—even in Ragusa or Cefalù!" Today I’m in Scoglitti—sea, sun, fresh air—a perfect day to... well, to follow a real estate agent who’s just stepped out of a shiny car and is heading toward an end-unit townhouse! He’s carrying a folder, wearing fancy shoes, and has that serious look of someone who needs someone like me—someone who knows how to explain things properly! "Ladies and gentlemen, welcome!" he began. "Welcome, my foot!" I squawked, landing on the low wall. "Leave it to Gionatan!" The villa is a marvel. Let’s start with the pool: azure water, an elegant edge, and plenty of room to swim, cool off, and dive in like a true pro. Personally, I could spend all day there. Humans, however, call it "added real estate value." Go figure. I hear him talking about outdoor spaces and plants... but this place is actually perfect for hosting aperitifs and real parties with friends—and for me, it’s a spot where I could make emergency landings without even asking for permission! Inside, the living area is modern and spacious—just the way I like it. The open-plan kitchen, practical and functional, makes my heart skip a beat. Oh, if only these puny little feet of mine could handle a ladle! I’d whip up sauces, knead focaccia dough, and fry up anchovies until the very sky was filled with the aroma. "And what about the bedrooms?" I hear someone ask. The bedrooms! Oh, they are absolutely perfect. Spacious, quiet nests with soft beds—a fitting place to lay eggs and raise little, refined seagulls. But the real game-changer? The bathrooms. Two of them! Can you imagine? I’m used to having to "go" on the fly, so I’d never realized just how convenient it is to have a bathroom within easy reach of one’s feet. Of course, if I were a real estate agent, I’d invite everyone out to the patio. I’d fire up the outdoor oven and whip up something delicious—maybe a pizza. A pizza! Oh, what a marvel! That warm, fragrant scent—it’s enough to make you forget your own migratory route. There is one thing about humans, though, that I still don’t quite grasp: why are they so obsessed with having a laundry room? I hear them raving about it during every visit: "A convenient laundry room, a utility space, a dedicated area!" But tell me, my two-legged friends—with a pool this beautiful, why on earth do you need to wash your clothes? Can’t you just jump in wearing them? "Immobiliaaaare G!" I sang out, spreading my wings. Because finding a house is easy. But recognizing the perfect nest—close to the sea, with two kitchens for baking pizza—that’s an art. And when it comes to this art, if I do say so myself, Gionatan is a true master!
